Terra dorata designs artistic and sustainable landscapes.
The designs of terra dorata are based on an understanding of the land and respect its timeless beauty.
My philosophy is to create sustainable designs that are harmoniously embedded in a site and invoke the genius loci, the spirit of a place. These creations are functional, beautiful and responsible toward all of their surrounds; physical, historical and spiritual.
‘Terra dorata’ stands for ‘Golden Earth’ symbolising the beauty of our planet. The creations of Terra dorata strive for humanistic values in landscape design. Humanistic landscapes that embrace nature.

My fascination with landscape design is inspired by a lifelong love of nature and from my life’s professional work in landscapes and gardens in Europe and Australia. These landscapes ranged from historic sites to contemporary public parks and gardens, from small, personal retreats to large-scale sites for Representation of Royalty or Governments. All these very diverse landscapes were designed and created for humans in a specific context of space and culture to express and fulfil human desires of their time.
Today People should feel invited, comfortable and relaxed in their landscapes and gardens as their place of retreat and peace, their paradise.
The first recorded ancient landscape designs were indeed creations named ‘Paradise Gardens’. The base design was a quadripartite garden where water channels symbolising life structured a sheltered, ideal landscape. The water channels represented the four rivers of life. Drawn from this part of history is the logo of Terra dorata, a four-fold Waratah.
My vision is of landscape design as a fine art bringing people and nature together.
